Pistachio was seen as a stray for a few weeks before he was caught. After a search for owners proved unsuccessful, he was surrendered to Paw Placement for help finding his forever family.

In the time that we've had him, we've learned that Pistachio loves both dogs and people, and is a bit scared of cats. He began playing with his similarly sized foster sister within minutes of meeting her, and they are now best buds. He also enjoys playing with larger dogs! Pistachio is looking for a forever family with a doggie playmate or two.

Pistachio also loves a rousing game of fetch with a tennis ball, chewing on bones and antlers, and cuddling with his people once he's all tuckered out. In short, Pistachio needs an active household. He's crate and house trained in his foster home. Pistachio's one shortcoming might be that he gets car sick, pretty much without fail, for any ride longer than 10 minutes.

A note him foster mom: Pistachio is a playful, confident and eager-to-please pup. He enjoys a good game of chase and wrestling with his foster sister, and doesn't know he's not one of the big boys when following his much larger foster brothers around. He's not so sure about car rides yet and thinks the robot vacuum is a little concerning. He loves a good restaurant patio outing. Once he found the toy basket his favorite pastime became pulling a toy out, trotting it across the room, chewing or playing with it for a few minutes, and then repeating this until he has all the toys in a pile around him. Pistachio has been so great with his house manners and crate training. His "listening ears" work well when he's given corrections or when getting his attention; and he loves to know when he's being a good boy with ear scratches. He's also a champion lap snuggler and if you scratch under his chin he'll give you a hug with his little paws.
