Henry is a sweet and affectionate young boy who has already endured too much in his short 6 months of life. Dumped at a shelter with his littermates at 6 weeks old, he spent about 6 weeks in a foster home when, as the last remaining puppy of his litter, he was sent back to the shelter. This is no place for a young puppy in the critical stages of development and Henry has come through this experience remarkably well adjusted.

Henry loves every human he meets, and his greetings are submissive and sweet by nature. Henry loves to snuggle and receive affection from any willing human. Especially children; according to the shelter where he stayed until he was 6 months old, Henry loves kids and would love to go home with a few respectful children old enough to have impulse control.

Henry does well with dogs of all shapes and sizes. He'd love a home with a doggie playmate or two, but he could also be successful in the right home as an only dog, as well. Henry will need strong leadership, structure and routine in his forever home to ensure he feels safe, secure and loved, and to create a lifelong match.

Henry is crate and house trained in foster home. He has not been tested with cats though, for the right applicant, we can arrange it. Henry is looking for a house with a yard, he's not appropriate for an apartment setting.

A note from foster mom: Looking for a puppy, but don't want the accidents, Henry is a completely potty trained big puppy. Henry is eager to please, young and full of playfulness. He plays fetch and will bring the ball right back. He has the goofiest smile when happy. He knows the command "drop it". He walks on a gentle leader leash like a true gentleman. He runs for 3 miles at foster dad's side. He will need continued training as he is still young. He gets along well with other dogs. Since he is a rescue he will need time to warm up to his new home. You'll fall in love.
