Lottie was found as a stray and, after a lengthy search for owners proved unsuccessful, she found her way to Paw Placement. This sweet girl is currently in a loving foster home where we are getting to know her. Lottie is about 2 years old and has had a few litters of puppies in her previous life.

Lottie LOVES humans; she prefers to be cuddled up with her people, basking in the attention and affection. She likes the company of other dogs and has become inseparable with her doggie foster brother. She doesn't yet understand squeak toys, leading us to believe she didn't have them in her previous life. (She has since learned to live them!) She loves bones and antlers, and spends hours chewing them. She'll occasionally show interest in chasing a tennis ball. She's quite green on a leash - when she encountered leash pressure initially, she would lie down and refuse to move, though this improves every day - and will need continued walking lessons in her forever home. Lottie is looking for a home with a yard. She is crate and house trained in her foster home. She was recently tested with a respectful 6 yr old girl and Lottie loved her, so she'll do well with children over 5. She has not been tested with cats.

Lottie is very submissive when put into new situations, or when spooked. For example, a sudden loud noise will send her running to the bedroom to hide on the closet, and she won't be coaxed out, and she may submissive pee. As she gets more comfortable in the home, and her humans refrain from coddling her and instead teach her how to be brave, she improves and gains confidence. But it's important to note that she'll require patience and time to overcome this quirk.

A note from foster mom: Lottie is a cuddle bug who wants to simply love her human. She smiles and wiggles her butt when happy so maybe her name should have been Ms Wigglebutt. She gets along well other dogs and wants human interaction. She will need a few days to feel confident and comfortable in her new home so don’t rush it. She will need leash training as she doesn’t really like it. She will walk on a loose leash once she feels comfortable with her human. She sleeps through the night and is house broken in her foster home. Lottie spills her food out of her food dish, something she came into foster doing. Lottie will make someone very happy as she’s a gem.
