Bassett Terrier Mix

It was 7:15 on a cold December Saturday morning, and one of our volunteers was on her way to traffic school (ugh!). As she was winding her way through the neighborhood, two chubby short-legged pooches came into view, trotting down the center of the street. Charlotte and her brother Wilbur hesitated a moment before greeting this new human and nestling their heads in her sweatshirt for warmth., Unable to leave the duo in the 30-degree weather, she took them home, and tried to locate their owners. As the days passed, we learned that Charlotte and Wilbur are house-trained, doggy-door trained, non-destructive, affectionate, friendly dogs....WHERE were their humans? , Sadly, we dont know what circumstances led this sweet brother and sister pair to be wandering the cold streets together. But we do know that they crossed a Paw Placement volunteer's path for a reason - for a second chance at a happy life together., Charlotte is more attention-seeking than Wilbur, who hangs back waiting for his belly rubs. They love people and are most content being as close as possible to their humans (think one lap, two dogs). These two are the best of pals and we prefer that they be adopted together. They would benefit from a family who can provide loving structure and teach them basic doggy commands and etiquette.
