Domestic Short Hair (short coat) : : Female : : Senior Tortie
Moki is a VERY special little girl. I first met Moki (short for MOmmy KItty) last year when she and her five kittens appeared outside my house. Moki was always very sweet, but her kittens were wild. By December I managed to get vetwork for them, but the kittens were wild, so I decided to build little kitty houses and feed the whole crowd outside. About a year ago Moki started missing, so I thought she had found another home. One night the kittens came out for food, and I noticed that one was limping. I grabbed her and ran for the vet. As I opened the carrier, I started crying as I realized this was a very hurt Moki. Apparently, Moki had been hit by a car as she has a detached retina. She also sustained significant injuries to her spinal cord. Both of her back legs work, but not well. She was a bag of skin and bones yet she made her way to me and head butted my hand for attention. I have had Moki inside with me for a week, and she eats like crazy and uses her litterbox all the time. She purrs constantly and loves to be cuddled and have her ears scratched. Moki will never be able to jump, run, or even walk very far, BUT she is a bundle of love! Moki would love a home where she will be safe for the rest of her life. She needs patience, as she moves very slowly and can only go a few feet before she needs to rest. She would love a small environment where her people, food/water, and litterbox would never be more than a few feet away. She is an absolute joy and just loves to sit by me while I scratch her little head. Amputation of a leg is NOT an option, as the two legs work together to help her balance. She has a wobbly hoppy walk but ALWAYS uses her litter box and eats with great gusto!, If you feel that you would be willing to provide Moki with love and understanding for the rest of her life, please fill out an application. Please remember that this kitty will need extreme care, as she moves very slowly and cannot walk very far. She has no way to defend herself, as she cannot balance well enough to even lift a paw to swipe at danger, nor can she move away from it. But she loves with all her heart and would love a quiet home to share with very special people! More about MokiIs Not Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
