A fairly common reason for animal overpopulation is when parents want their children to see the experience of "birth" by allowing their cat or dog to have a litter. Unfortunately, the birth process is just a tiny part of the experience - families are quickly overwhelmed with far more animals than they can handle. In Portobella's case, her mama produced nine babies. Forutnately Paw Placement stepped in to rescue these little sweethearts, but many other kittens aren't so lucky. Portobella and her siblings are thriving and will do well in just about any home that understands the playful kitten nature. While they might love to be adopted together, it isn't required.
