About Bear

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 1158
Meet Bear! Sadly, his owner is having heart surgery and cannot care for him anymore, and no family members would take him in. He is a large bundle of joy, clumsy and happy that he didn't end up at the pound where his owner's family members were going to take him if Paw Placement didn't step in. He is good with friendly dogs, but unsure about cats. He would do best with older children due to his size and clumsiness. If you are looking for a hunka burnin' lab love, Bear is your dog. From Bear's foster mom: "He is very strong and pulls when on the leash, so I have trouble walking him, but he is very smart and with some training will be fine. He knows "sit" and "down" (mostly) and gives his paw. He likes to play fetch and learned quickly that to continue the game, you need to bring the ball back so it can be thrown again. He is well-mannered, but craves a lot of attention. He does not get up on the furniture unless you are sitting on it and he wants to be in your lap. He will sit in your lap if you let him - he does not realize how big he is. He will get in a crate with a treat to lure him in. He does not like to be confined unless he can see his human. He may whine or bark to begin with, but will settle down shortly if he can see you. He has not chewed any furniture, but likes rawhide or bone treats (or your hand) to keep him busy. He likes to be where people are and sticks close." -If Bear sounds like the perfect companion you're looking for, please fill out an online adoption application!
