Chow/Retriever Mix

Note from rescue volunteer: This is a REALLY special dog that I met just two weekends ago at an adoption event for my rescue group. With so many other dogs around and so many people, sweet Pookie just sat calmly and quietly and doled out kisses to passersby...I cannot understand why no one took special interest in him...he is SUCH A SWEETIE PIE!!! He is stunning, too..sort of a fluffer-nutter with beautiful black hair that shines sort of auburn in the sun...gorgeous!! Pookie is a 6 month old sweet little boy. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs and is very respective of them. We don't know how he is with cats, but he seems pretty easy going and loving, so he just might be alright. He LOVES to swim and he has webbed feet which is a common trait in both the Lab breed and the Portugese Water Breed. A family with another dog and a pool would make his life!! If all this isn't enough, he's already HOUSEBROKEN! He's very soft and fuzzy and therefore a real teddy bear in the hugging department. He tends to pick up leaves and dried grass on his coat when he comes back inside...just an FYI to have a brush handy. He is very smart and knows he needs to sit for a treat! He loves toys, especially squeaky toys and balls! He's learning how to play fetch and bring the ball back. He also loves rope toys. He has been sleeping on the floor on a rug and sleeps all through the night like the sweet baby he is.... He has a very sweet and tender temperament and will make a wonderful family member for someone really lucky. Of course, you must have some puppy patience (since he is a puppy and has energy) and be willing to follow through with some par for the course behavioral training! He's been neutered and has been microchipped in addition to receiving all of his shots. He has a clean bill of health from our vet.....do you have a swimming pool and a best buddy for little Pookie??
