Rocco is one of the many dogs who are victims of the "I have to move and my dog (who loves me completely) is no longer convenient to my lifestyle" mentality -- please note that this mentality is uniquely and sadly always human. So instead Roco was left at the Animal Care & Control facility and sentenced to an early death --- all because his previous owner didn't even care enough to place Rocco with a no-kill shelter. Well Rocco won't have to worry anymore. He is currently in foster care and is doing very well. He does need to go on a HUGE diet! This is one little piggy who weighs 21 lbs and should weigh 10 lbs. Rocco seems to know certain commands and will sit when asked. Because Rocco has an irregular gait, we had him examined by a vet -- it looks as if one leg has been broken or fractured at one point. But the old injury does not stop this happy dog from wiggling and prancing with happiness to find himself safe and loved. Rocco's ideal home would be in an adult home or a home with older children. |
